Yoga is more than just a physical practice, it is a way of life.
We might warm the body and mind on the mat, but the true practice is truly out there. How we show up in this world, off the mat, which is a reflection on how we practice.
When we use our breath to move in an intentional way, overcoming challenging poses, finding comfort amidst uncomfortable situation, in time we find more space and freedom in our mind.
We instil trust, that no matter how hard the pose is, we will move on to the next one. We endure. We find the tenacity to push through, and remember this when life gets challenging.
We gained the courage to change our perspective, appreciating and welcoming these challenges in our life because it helps us grow and build resilience.
How can we incorporate yoga in our daily life in this ever changing world?
How can I help myself and others find balance in a world that is bound with time and when business is seen as a badge of success?
How can we trickle down this wisdom to the next generation so that they may grow into adulthood with purpose and a true sense of who they are as a being?
How can I empower my students so that no matter what life throws at them they can find ease, peace, and freedom?
How can I help change the misconception of what yoga is, so that one day people will forget that they used to say “I would like to practice yoga but I’m not flexible enough”.
How can I make yoga inclusive for everyone?
These are the questions that drives me. These questions are my purpose. The reasons I travel miles away to teach at dawn. The reason I have a big smile every time I teach. The reasons for me to never stop learning. The reasons for me to never stop practicing, and the reasons for me to never stop teaching. These questions are my mission, my Sādhana.
I hope I will be seeing you on the mat soon.
Peace, peace, peace.
